Carol Lim and Humberto Leon continue to build on the success of the coveted tiger motif, first seen on the KENZO runway in Fall 12 – their first collection for the iconic house. A firm nod to founding designer Kenzo Takada’s early jungle-inspired themes – influenced by the designers travels in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines – the KENZO tiger motif is reworked this season in psychedelic colours and kaleidoscope effects as part of Lim and Leon’s Spring 13 campaign video, Tiger Fever. Morphing images of growling tigers are interspersed with a frenzy of bright patterns, and shots of stoic models sporting the cult Tiger Sweater that are accompanied by a percussive tribal-inspired dance number provides soundtrack.
