Happy Easter!!

While most of us would be happy with a nice chocolate egg from the local store, other people will only settle for the best! William Curley, a London based chocolatier is now the proud Guiness World Record holder for crafting the most expensive non-jeweled chocolate egg that ever got sold at an auction. Weighing in at 50kg and filled with the Curley favorites, the winner of gold awards from the Academy of Chocolate, including Japanese black vinegar, toasted sesame, muscovado caramel, rosemary and olive oil and juniper berry and cassis, this Golden Speckled Egg is also accented with edible gold leaf.  Christened as the Golden Speckled Egg, the egg was auctioned as part of the Big Egg Hunt presented by Faberge, which is a tradition related to the Easter egg festival. This contemporary and stylish chocolate egg was bought by the technology investor Cyrus Vandrevala for $10,000.

It might now be over, but London just hosted the Big Egg Hunt, the world's biggest-ever Easter egg hunt.   Many have been created by famous names such as Mulberry, Sir Ridley Scott, Zandra Rhodes, Diane Von Furstenberg, Marc Quinn, Bruce Oldfield and the Chapman brothers. If you have some spare change, like £40,000+ take a look at some of these!  http://www.thebigegghunt.co.uk/eggs
